Is your development team in-house or subcontracted?
In-house. Our development team has been part of Hi-Tek since 1982. Custom application development was the original Hi-Tek service line; managed IT grew up around it. The development team and the managed IT team work in the same building.
What kinds of integrations do you build?
Most common patterns: ERP-to-CRM, document management to Microsoft 365, billing to AP automation, EMR-related integrations, time-and-billing to invoicing, multi-tenant Microsoft 365 administration, custom Power BI reporting. Anything where two systems need to talk and the off-the-shelf integration doesn’t fit.
Do you build mobile apps?
Web-first with mobile-responsive design covers most use cases. Native iOS/Android development is available where the use case requires (typically field operations, clinical mobility, or customer-facing apps with offline requirements).
How does AI implementation work?

Can you maintain custom systems built by previous vendors?
Often, yes. We assess the existing codebase, document what’s there, and either maintain it as-is or modernize as needed. We’ve taken over custom systems from many predecessors over decades.
How do you handle source code and IP?
All custom code we build for clients is the client’s IP. We deliver source code, documentation, and operational runbooks. Engagement structures range from per-project (fixed scope) to managed development (ongoing capacity).
